Cricket must have bee popular as this photo is the fifth grade cricket team. If you weren't in one of the Grade teams you played on the cow paddocks on the other side of Vimera Rd., hit it downhill and you got four, hit it uphill and you would likely run yourself out.

Chalk chucker extrodinaire Ray Burr with the fifth grade cricket team, most of this team will reappear in 1st Grade in a few years.
Athletics, the annual carnival at Epping Oval was a feature event each year and the availability of House points for anyone that competed swelled the ramks of competitors.

Swimming was set to take off now that there was a local pool and we were not required to travel to Ryde or Cabarita to train and compete.
